Birthday Dinner at Sette by Scarpetta NYC

As you are all well aware, I recently crossed the threshold into my forties, a significant milestone that certainly warrants something exceptional. But rather than going the traditional route with a big bash, I opted for a more intimate and special celebration. Franco and I enjoyed a wonderful dinner at Sette – an Italian restaurant owned by the Scarpetta restaurant family, known for their NYC establishments.

Head Chef Massimo Tagliaferri stopped by to say hello

Nestled within the luxurious Bvlgari Hotel in Knightsbridge, Sette aims to bring the vibrant Italian flavours of Manhattan to the heart of London.

And if you’re someone who appreciates a relaxed yet sophisticated atmosphere, exceptional food, and top-notch service, I highly recommend considering a Sette dinner for your next foodie experience.

Food Highlights From Our Evening

A dinner table with a menu, wine glasses filled with wine, and a bottle of sparkling water.

To kick off the festivities, we toasted with some delightful Ferrari Trento bubbles…cheers!

The starters were a true highlight. We started with a Salmon dish that featured sundried tomatoes, roasted almonds, and trapanese pesto. Simply put, it was an explosion of flavours. The Yellow Tail, with olio di zenzero and pickled red onions, equally melted in our mouths.

To complete our starter course, the Scottish Beef — served as a tartare, was a fantastic surprise. Not wanting to miss out, we also ordered the Creamy Polenta, a personal favourite that was accompanied by a scrumptious fricassée of truffled mushrooms.

For our middle course, we savoured the Pasta dishes.

The Short Rib and Bone Marrow Agnolotti, alongside the delectable Ravioli Cacio e Pepe genuinely satiated our appetites. (Honestly, I was so stuffed at this pointwe should have stopped eating here. We didn’t)

So, when it came to our main courses, we decided to go for both a fish and a meat option. The Lemon Sole was an absolute delight, and the Roasted Spring English Lamb was a mouthwatering choice.

Again, we were already quite full, so we skipped the sides.

Despite our full bellies, we still couldn’t resist indulging in some dessert though!

The Crostata with ovis molis, raspberry cremoso, mascarpone cream, and raspberry, was a great choice for Franco. I went for the simple yet delicious Gelati e Sorbet – a delightful selection of ice creams and sorbets.

I must say, Sette truly lived up to its reputation as a classy dining spot that’s perfect for a special dinner celebration. The blend of flavours, the inviting ambience, and the attentive service made it an experience worth trying.

Verdict: We’ll be back to try out the rest of the menu!
